Board-certified in both family medicine and addiction medicine, Dr. Bishop was born and raised in Florida before spending 10 years in U.S. Navy as one of the youngest Physician Assistants. After leaving the Navy, he graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1985.

He worked in Family Medicine for over 20 years before retiring from his practice and becoming the Chief Medical Officer at Wellington Regional Medical Center from 2006 to 2013, where he also served as Chief of Staff.

Dr. Bishop is a member of over a dozen professional medical associations and, in his free time, enjoys a number of different activities. Although now retired from racing, was a member of the International Motor Sports Association and Sports Car Club of America. Dr. Bishop is also a certified open water scuba diver, he enjoys fishing, traveling, and hunting.

Dr. Bishop believed that the transition from family medicine to addiction medicine was a natural fit in order to combat the current drug crisis in America. Along with being the Medical Director at Remedy Therapy, he has also held the role of Medical Director at South University’s Master of Science Physician Assistant’s program since 2019.

Courtney, the Executive Director at Remedy Therapy, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the field of behavioral health. Earning both her Bachelor’s in Business Management and Marketing from UCF and her MBA from Boston University, Courtney possesses a strong foundation in business operations alongside her passion for helping others.

Since 2016, she has served as a Certified Addiction Counselor, working extensively with individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders, eating disorders, and complex psychiatric conditions. Courtney’s commitment to lifelong learning ensures she stays abreast of the latest advancements in mental health treatment. This dedication, coupled with her pursuit of clinical excellence, allows her to provide compassionate and effective care to all those who seek support at Remedy Therapy.

Jennifer Picardo brings over 20 years of healthcare experience specializing in behavioral health to her role as Director of Nursing at Remedy Therapy. Center for Eating Disorders. She is committed to providing excellent and safe care to patients and their families, backed by extensive expertise in administration, policy, organizational and strategic management, and innovative leadership.

Jenn began her career as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, earning her Bachelor of Science degree from East Carolina University. While working full-time at the Institute of Psychiatry on the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) campus, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Health Administration and Policy from MUSC. Upon moving to Florida, Jenn furthered her education with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Palm Beach State College and a Bachelor’s in Nursing from Western Governors University. She now serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Nursing Department at Indian River State College.

Her clinical and administrative experience spans various settings within the mental health field, including child/adolescent residential psychiatry, substance abuse medical detoxification, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care. This diverse background has helped Jenn develop the knowledge and expertise necessary to excel in the Behavioral Health Field.

Outside of her professional life, Jenn strives to maintain a balanced lifestyle. She has a passion for dance, exercise, and spending time with her family and friends. She is also an enthusiastic competition cheer and dance mom.

Jenn Picardo’s dedication to her field and her comprehensive background make her an invaluable asset to the Remedy Therapy team, where she continues to lead with compassion and expertise.

Caroline Vinyard, LMHC, MBA, is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of extensive experience in child welfare, behavioral health, and mental health. Her career has been defined by a steadfast commitment to improving systems and advocating for the well-being of children and families.

Caroline’s expertise lies in designing and implementing innovative programs that address the complex needs of vulnerable populations. With a specialization in system improvements, she has played pivotal roles in reshaping the landscape of child welfare and behavioral health services.

As the former CEO of the Children’s Advocacy Center on the Treasure Coast and the COO of Hibiscus Children’s Center, Caroline demonstrated exceptional leadership and vision. Under her guidance, these organizations flourished, expanding their reach and impact in the community. She spearheaded initiatives aimed at providing comprehensive support to children who have experienced trauma, empowering them to heal and thrive.

Caroline’s leadership style is characterized by collaboration, strategic thinking, and a deep-seated passion for social justice. She is known for her ability to forge partnerships across sectors, mobilize resources, and drive meaningful change. Her advocacy efforts have contributed to policy reforms and increased awareness of the importance of early intervention and trauma-informed care.

In addition to her professional achievements, Caroline is admired for her unwavering dedication to uplifting others and making a difference in the lives of those she serves. Her blend of clinical expertise, business acumen, and advocacy experience positions her as a dynamic leader and change agent in the field of child welfare and mental health.

Lauren started her career in substance abuse in 2014. She is passionate about creating treatment programs based on evidence- informed practices. She is driven by her desire to provide the best care to every patient who is seeking recovery. Lauren specializes in restructuring and managing substance abuse facilities, with a focus on culture and efficiency. In 2018, she oversaw a multi-state substance abuse business operating with 600 beds over three states, with levels of care ranging from detox to intensive outpatient treatment. Her success can be most attributed to building a strong, effective treatment team, implementing best practices for treating patients, and managing the administrative and fiscal aspects of the business efficiently.

Josh is passionate about helping people overcome addiction. He loves working with patients assisting them in all of their recovery needs. Josh graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Social Science. He was the Florida Junior Olympic Champion for the 3-mile run. Josh enjoys surfing, hiking, photography, adventuring, and making a positive difference in the world. Josh believes that he has been put on the path of recovery to give back to others and spread light. His goals are to help patients face their fears and failures. Josh believes God has a much bigger plan for us all, especially beyond addiction. Josh focuses on what he can do to inspire someone every day and help them find their purpose. Josh loves showing others how Josh thrives in recovery and assists patients in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and healing. He is excited to meet you and can’t wait to help you on the fun and beautiful journey of sobriety.
